Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would be a part of America's child prodigies list. For a child with Irish heritage, who was surrounded her parents were gifted as well as a family full filled with talented individuals, these characteristics were innate. Maureen came to this loving sanctuary on August 17th, 1920. Her family was her parents and family members. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and also owned part of the well-known Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons first FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen excelled at sports and loved rough games. She combined this interest with an equally natural gift of performing. The fact that she was awarded nearly all the Feis Awards for her home nation's theatre and drama is a testimony to this. When she was 14she was accepted to the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue operatic singing and classical theater.
