Lucy Lawless, a New Zealand-born actress and singer, is well known throughout the world of entertainment. The most notable of her work are the roles she took on in a variety of popular television and film series, such as Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. The role was originally meant for the actress Vanessa Angel but ultimately went to Lucy after she was unable to join the filming due to illness.
