Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. Most famous for playing Emily Fields, she is an actress and model on the Freeform television show Pretty Little Liars. The actress attended acting lessons in Toronto after achieving great results at modeling and dancing. After getting a few advertisements and guest appearances in TV seriesMitchell got her big break when she was commissioned in the role of Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars. She was praised for her talents by critics as well the people who loved her. Her film career started with the films Dreamland, Mother's Day, as well as The Possession of Hannah Grace. She became more popular after starring in the psychological series You. In addition to acting, she's ventured into the world of writing. With Michaela Blayne, she co-wrote a novel for adults called Bliss. Shay Mitchell was born on the 10th of April, 1987 and was raised in Ontario, Canada to parents Mark Mitchell and Precious Garcia. She's of Filipina origin, while her father has Scottish/Irish heritage. Mitchell is also a relative of Lea Salonga, a famed music theater performer and actress. Growing up, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary prior to transferring to West Vancouver Secondary School. In her teens, Mitchell had already worked as a model for companies in several countries. She travelled to Barcelona, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, ultimately returning home in Toronto and pursuing a degree in acting.
